Renovations

This house was a dump before I was assigned team leader to renovate it. Now it is a beautiful place to live. It has two residential units, upstairs about 3000 square feet, the downstairs about 2000. The streetcar line runs about a stone's throw from the front sidewalk, and City Park is a pleasant walk of three blocks away, with the beautiful Bayou St. John the same distance. My opinion is that this is one of the most beautiful areas of New Orleans.

This is the hallway, coming in from the front door. I did most of the floor sanding myself. Also I did much of the drywall hanging and finishing, also making sure that everything was painted right. Almost the entire house has been insulated against the hot New Orleans summer weather.

The living room is huge, with ceiling to floor windows that open to the front porch. Off to one side are two spacious bedrooms.
